The US government increases pressure on migrants through a plan aimed at cutting their tax benefits.

Los Angeles, November 29 (LaOpinión).- Aligned with the policy of eradicating the migratory phenomenon in States Joined (EU), Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasuryannounced that the government will cut the benefits prosecutors for foreigners lacking regular status and will also increase the review of the remittances that they send to their countries of origin.
The objective is to exclude migrants and “others” foreigners who do not qualify” of the refundable portions of credits prosecutors such as earned income, the additional credit for children, the “American opportunity” credit and the credit for contributions to a savings account.
This position arises as a result of President Donald Trump’s order to stop migration “from all third world countries,” as he affirms that this way the government’s finances will be able to get rid of a heavy burden.
“The official foreign population of the United States amounts to 53 million people [según el censo]most of whom receive social assistance, come from countries in crisis, or live in prisons, psychiatric institutions, gangs or drug cartels. They and their children are supported by huge payments from patriotic American citizens who, out of their nobility, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way. “They endure what has happened to our country, but doing so is eating them up!” Trump wrote in Truth Social.
🚨 “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions… & remove anyone who is not a net asset to the U.S., or is incapable of loving our Country…” – @POTUS pic.twitter.com/Jl5wJ0egRR

And to be clearer in defining the problem, the New York politician cited an example of how an migrant ends up obtaining benefits that exceed their annual salary, which in his view is not fair.
“A migrant who earns $30,000 with a green card will receive approximately $50,000 in annual benefits for his or her family. The actual migrant population is much larger. This refugee burden is the main cause of social dysfunction in the United States, something that did not exist after World War II. [escuelas fallidas, alta criminalidad, deterioro urbano, hospitales saturados, escasez de viviendas y grandes déficits, etc.]”, he stressed.
Another of the adjustments that will soon be implemented aimed at migrants is related to remittances sent to their countries of origin, which according to Scott Bessent will be subject to a thorough review aimed at detecting any “suspicious activity” and for this reason he shared an alert issued by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
“Migrants using our financial institutions to move their ill-gotten funds is exploitative, and this will end. Although the vast majority of remittances from the United States are legitimate and can provide essential financial support to family members abroad, FinCEN has previously warned that malign actors have used low-dollar cross-border transfers to facilitate or commit terrorist financing,” he said.
