He College of Masters in Administration and Public Policies of the Southeast (Comapps) exists to raise the quality of public service and of public debate. If we ensure that decisions are made with more evidence, more professionalism and more integrity, we will be fulfilling our role with Yucatan and with all the Southeast.
This was stated yesterday Juan Felipe Alonzo Solíswho today, Friday, will assume the presidency of this organization of professionals.
“The School has a very clear function in the society of the Southeast: to contribute to the public decisions be better. And we do this from three fronts: promoting professionalization of the public service, contributing technical analysis on issues that affect citizens, and strengthening a culture of integrity and public service”, he remarked.
In an interview he gave to Yucatan Diary, Juan Felipe Alonzo Solís He anticipated his work plan for this period 2025-2028 that will be headed by the school’s board of directors. He summarized it in five strategic points:
1. Professionalization of public service
Promote the importance of professionalization in the public service by offering tools in evaluation, planning, finance and modern public management.
2. Provide technical analysis to relevant topics
Provide informed opinions on public policies, budgets, mobility, regional development, employment and quality of government.
3. Participate as a citizen voice in the public agenda
Act as a space for collective reflection that articulates academia, government, companies and civil society, accompanying consultation processes and putting forward proposals.
4. Promote ethics, integrity and good governance
Disseminate integrity standards in public administration and among professionals in the sector, promoting good practices in transparency and accountability.
5. Form professional community
Bring together specialists from the southeast who work in management and public policies, creating networks of collaboration, dissemination, applied research and public innovation projects.
The new president recalled that they are a school with more than 20 years of training and has 30 specialized members in various areas of the public functionincluding public finance, economics, public administration and data science, etc.
The inauguration ceremony of this new board will take place tomorrow Saturday 29th at 9 a.m. in a well-known hotel on Paseo de Montejo, where Alonzo Solís will replace Jorge Barrera Peniche.— DAVID DOMÍNGUEZ MASSA
